Club Info
Started in 2002, we are an active club of 36 people, both couples and singles, who enjoy the opportunity to travel and host those from other clubs. The club strives to have 2 outbound and 2 inbound journeys per year. We prefer to host in May and June as well as September and October when the weather is likely to be sunny and more temperate. Our enthusiastic members work very hard to provide visiting ambassadors with interesting experiences as they explore our wonderful region.
Area Info
Hamilton and Burlington are 2 adjoining cities found at the western end of Lake Ontario. A former centre for heavy industry with emphasis on 2 major steel companies, the port city of Hamilton has developed into a much more diverse community. Its many hiking trails and 18 beautiful waterfalls are only part of Hamilton’s many cultural, historic and natural attractions. Even the movie industry has recognized its many assets with major studios shooting a wide variety of films here.
The Bayfront is newly rejuvenated and the shoreline of both cities provides space for relaxing and very scenic walks. The Royal Botanical Gardens adjacent to both cities is a great biodiversified park with many flora and fauna upon which to feast one’s eyes and fascinating nature trails. A dormitory town to Toronto, Burlington has a great deal of light industry. The city has much to offer its visitors culturally, historically and scenically.
Typical Journey
Our journey is usually one week in length beginning with a welcoming meal to introduce our guests to their hosts and other club members, familiarize them with the area and itinerary and, of course, have fellowship together. During the week, tours in our fair cities will be made to cultural, historic and other attractions. These trips will be interspersed with excursions to Toronto, Niagara Falls and area and Stratford if desired. These areas of interest and others are all available within an hour’s drive from our area. Small group dinners and large group get-togethers round out the time we spend together with our new friends.
Maximum number of ambassadors 12-14
Closest major airport: Toronto International Airport. Excellent inexpensive land transportation to and from the airport is conveniently available for our guest ambassadors.
